Everton boss David Moyes hopes he has the inside-running for Sheffield United fullback Kyle Naughton.
The Liverpool Daily Post says Moyes is banking on his reputation for turning stars from the Championship into top Premier League performers in order to win the race for Kyle Naughton.
On hearing that the Goodison Park outfit had agreed a fee rising to £6million with Sheffield United for the England under-21 international right-back, Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Redknapp has attempted to hijack the move with a copycat bid.
Moyes hopes to convince Naughton that his future lies on Merseyside by pointing out his unrivalled record of polishing up the best rough diamonds from English football's second tier such as Tim Cahill and Joleon Lescott. Phil Jagielka has also become a full England international at Goodison Park since joining from the Blades after just one season in the top flight.
