Everton boss Dave Moyes is ready to sell Andy Johnson to Fulham in order to bring forward plans to land Sporting Lisbon's £18 million midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Johnson is expected to complete his £10.7m switch to Fulham in days - paving the way for Moyes to make his first big transfer splash of the summer.

Portugal midfielder Moutinho is top of Everton's wanted list and talks between the clubs to bring him to Merseyside are now under way.

Everton value him at just under £16m but Sporting won't sell at that price, and the Toffees plan to return with an improved offer in the next few days.
