Everton U21 Stubbs welcomes early Unsworth impact

Everton U21 coach Alan Stubbs is pleased with the early impact of new assistant manager David Unsworth.

Unsworth recently rejoined the Toffees as Stubbs' assistant, having previously coached at Preston North End and Sheffield United.

Stubbs told evertonfc.com: "It was great to have him there. It's good to have someone on your shoulder who's prompting you and probing you and maybe seeing things that you haven't seen. It's good to bounce ideas off someone.

"There'll be times when we agree, times when we don't, but I think we've got that respect for each other where if we try something and it happens, great; if it doesn't, we'll move on and learn from it.

"It's good from my point of view to have him here and it's good for the players to have a different voice around and someone else to learn off."
