Everton U21 coach Alan Stubbs is happy to call on their youth loan players.
With skipper Tyias Browning, Matthew Pennington, Chris Long and Matthew Kennedy all currently at Football League clubs, they also remain eligible for the Blues and featured in the 0-0 draw with Tottenham.
Stubbs told evertonfc.com: "The Premier League have restructured loan deals as a result of some players going out on loan and finding themselves not getting games.
"To combat that they have created youth loans that allow the parent clubs to bring the players back to also play for the Under-21s or Under-18s.
"This is the first time we've exercised the right to do that although some of the lads have been playing regularly.
"It's also a chance for us to assess them all, have a chat and see how they are enjoying it.
"Some of them will go back and extend their loans.
"I think it's a really good system because it gives them added confidence that if they go out on loan and aren't playing, we can always bring them back and give them minutes."
