Everton enjoyed a 2-0 win over Manchester United U18s yesterday.
Goals from Kieran Dowell and James Yates secured an impressive victory for the young Blues at Finch Farm.
Dowell's first-half opener came about after he played a neat one-two with Calum Dyson before finishing inside the penalty area.
And the victory was wrapped up after the break when Yates collected possession on the right, drove inside and powered a left-footed shot into the corner.
Blues Academy coach John Doolan told evertonfc.com: "It was a massive win and it will give the lads even more confidence.
"It was a solid performance and they withstood the pressure that they were put under by a good Manchester United team."
