Everton U18 captain Jake Bidwell determined to continue career progress

Everton U18 captain Jake Bidwell is aiming to progress to the reserve team next season.

Bidwell led the Club to the National Academy League title in 2010/11, and has won praise from his coaches for his work ethic and leadership qualities.

The Blues youngster told evertonfc.com: "All the lads here have got tremendous spirit and that comes out in the way we play. If you've got that then you have half a chance.

"The aim next year is to kick on and hold down a regular place in the reserve team and, if I keep working hard enough, then who knows after that?

"It was a great end to the season for me with winning the awards and obviously winning the league with the lads as well.

"It has been the biggest achievement for me personally so far but hopefully it is all just the start for me."
