Beira Mar's highly-rated defender Yohan Tavares is in the sights of Everton.
It has been reported that Everton manager David Moyes is keen on a move for the 23-year-old and was hopeful of landing him for just £500,000.
But, according to reports in Portugal, Beira Mar will not let Tavares leave unless a club meets his £1.7m minimum fee release clause in January.
A club source told talkSPORT: "He will only leave if a club pays the clause. We are not willing to negotiate."
