Everton are set to offer Ross Barkley a long-term deal.
Reports suggest that the Toffees are intent on tying down their key players for the future and will start with midfielder Barkley.
According to the Daily Mail, manager Ronald Koeman is keen to kickstart the second phase of his redevelopment of the Goodison Park playing group by securing those he wants to build a team around.
Everton signed the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Maarten Stekelenburg in the summer and are now looking to reward current star Barkley who has a strong status within the squad.
The 22-year-old is seen as a player Koeman and his coaching staff can turn to and are eager to extend his stay on Merseyside.
Barkley is currently contracted until the summer of 2018.
