Everton tie down Idrissa Gueye to long-term deal

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has been rewarded for his terrific form this season with a brand new contract.

The Sun report that Gueye's deal is worth £75,000-a-week.

The Senegal midfielder, signed from Aston Villa for £7.1million in 2016, will now remain at the club until 2022. He has scored three goals in 64 appearances for the Toffees.

"Everton is the right place for me and this is why I have signed my new deal," Gueye told the club's official website.

"I love the fans here. They have been great to me. They made it easy for me to sign this contract.

"Of course, I spoke with my family and my agent, but the love of the fans was really important and this is a really good thing for me.

"I have enjoyed immensely my time so far at the club, I enjoy working with the manager, his staff and the players here and we are really determined to finish the season strongly."
