Everton target Johann Vogel has left Primera Liga strugglers Real Betis by mutual agreement after enduring an unhappy year in Spain.
The Swiss international arrived at the Manuel Ruiz de Lopera from Milan as part of the deal which saw Ricardo Oliveira go in the other direction.
However, he had not made a first-team appearance this season and was in the process of suing the club over unpaid fees owed to him.
Everton boss David Moyes was reported to be interested in Vogel over the summer and may be set to make another approach for the player now that he has become available.
