Everton striker Wayne Rooney enjoys bumper earnings increase

Everton striker Wayne Rooney has enjoyed a bumper increase in earnings from his image rights this year.

The Mirror says his company Stoneygate 48 shot up in value to £17.2million from £12.4million.

The firm handles his image rights and investments.

The new accounts were filed before he was nicked driving Laura Simpson, 29, home from a Cheshire bar in September.

Rooney, 31, is still one of the world's richest players despite halving his £300,000 a week wage when he left Manchester United in July.
