Everton striker Traore: I'm having to play catch-up

Lacina Traore admits he's starting from a long way back at Everton.

Traore must play catch-up quickly if he is to have an impact during his loan spell on Merseyside.

"It is hard because it's almost five months since I last played and it's a bit like another pre-season for me," the on-loan AS Monaco striker said.

"Every training session and every match I need to be at 100% intensity to get quickly back to my best.

"I need to get my rhythm as soon as possible because time is short. But it made me feel great to hear the reception I got. It means a lot to a player, and now it's down to me to do my absolute best to repay them and perform well."
