Everton striker Nikica Jelavic enjoys playing for Croatia coach Slaven Bilic.

Bilic has always backed the former Rangers forward.

And Jelavic says: "I remember Bilic did an article saying that he had no worries about me not scoring goals if I chose to move to England.

"Many people thought it might be better for me to stay in Scotland and to keep scoring goals with Rangers.

"But he had faith in me and I also had confidence in myself.

"But I must be honest, I really didn't think things would turn out as good as they have.

"It could not have gone any better - the second part of the season was perfect for me.

"And now the main thing is to score goals for the national team."
