Everton striker Hope delighted to be off mark in U17 World Cup

Everton striker Hallam Hope hopes to take his England U17 scoring form into their next game against Canada.

Hope was on target in a 2-0 win over Rwanda on Sunday night as John Peacock's side made a winning start to the World Cup in Mexico.

Next up is the Canadians in the early hours of Thursday morning and, despite starting as favourites, Hope insists his side will have to be at 100 per cent.

"I'm looking forward to the game," Hope, who is joined in the England squad by Blues teammate John Lundstram, told evertonfc.com.

"I think it will be a good game but it will also be a hard game for the lads, so we can't underestimate them.

"They will be looking to beat us after their defeat against Uruguay (in their opening game), but if we all play to our potential, I'm confident we will get the three points."
