Everton are believed to still be in the hunt for Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy and Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez has been heavily linked with McCarthy since he departed the DW Stadium to replace David Moyes at Goodison Park earlier this summer and reportedly is still keen on luring him to Mersyeside.
Reports also suggest Martinez has remained in pursuit of McCarthy's Republic of Ireland international teammate McGeady who has entered the final year of his contract with Spartak.
