Landon Donovan enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Everton last season and boss David Moyes is hopeful of luring the American international back on a similar deal. Contact has been made with the LA Galaxy attacker but if a deal is not concluded swiftly, the Toffees chief will have to evaluate more options.
He added: "I have spoken with him and he was going on holiday. I would hope to hear something next week if there was any chance. If not we will try and move towards something else."
