Everton are a step closer to signing Sporting Lisbon defender Eric Dier.

The Daily Mail says Diers's chances of a permanent deal at Everton have been boosted by parent club Sporting Lisbon ending his third-party ownership.

Sporting had sold 50 per cent of Dier to Quality Football Ireland Limited but now have full control of the 18-year-old.
