Everton starlet Stones: England U21s determined to take senior step

John Stones believes there are plenty of players in the England U21 squad who are destined to step up to senior level.

The Everton centre-back, along with Carl Jenkinson, Calum Chambers, Jack Butland and Harry Kane, have already represented the Three Lions at senior level and there are a lot more who are capable according to the 21-year old.

"In this group, I think there are a number of players who can make the step up," Stones, who has amassed four senior caps himself, told TheFA.com.

"I want to do that, and every player in that dressing room wants to be in the senior squad.

"Having been and played with the senior squad, it makes me hungry to do well and get back in there, along with the all other lads who are thinking the same."

The England U21 side is currently preparing for this summer's UEFA U21 European Championships in the Czech Republic.
