Everton captain Phil Neville insists they cannot be satisfied with last season's success.
"It should have been us in that final playing a team we have already beaten - so that's something we have to learn from and make sure doesn't happen again."
With his former Manchester United team-mates, including brother Gary, now having the chance to follow up their second successive Premier League title win with a Champions league victory on Wednesday, Neville is itching to add to his collection of honours.
"You do miss those kind of days," the 31-year-old told the Liverpool Echo. "Because at the end of the day winning medals and trophies is what motivates me. It's not contracts or money or anything that motivates me at this stage of my career; it's European football and winning medals and I still want more of them. So if I thought this club was going backwards and if it wasn't interested in winning medals I'd be the first one out of the door.
"But I think this club wants that kind of success and hopefully it's just round the corner."
