Everton captain Phil Neville has dismissed complaints from Manchester United over a robust tackle made during their 1-1 draw.
Just before the hour mark Neville was booked following a tackle on Cristiano Ronaldo. Although replays showed it was a superb challenge, the incident incensed United players, with Rio Ferdinand sprinting across the field to remonstrate with his former teammate.
"Tackles are a part of football," Neville told manutd.com. "If you take that out you take away a part of the game. It was a great game of football, there was no rough stuff, just commitment on a greasy surface.
"I don't think I even fouled Ronaldo, I won the ball clearly."
