Everton skipper Phil Neville wasn't surprised by Steven Naismith's hat-trick in midweek.
The Scot struck in Tony Hibbert's testimonial against AEK Athens.
Neville told evertontv: "He has fitted in straight away and he's a good lad.
"The other boys like him and he's popular. I think with Steven we have just got to be patient. He has been out of football for a long time.
"However there is obviously a great understanding between him and Jelavic from their time at Rangers and we have seen that in training. He's a goal threat and he offers something different to what we have already.
"I think he fits nicely into the balance of the team, he can play in a number of positions and he looks an Everton player to me."
