Everton skipper Neville happy to be returning to Bury

Everton skipper Phil Neville is excited to be kicking off preseason at hometown club Bury.

Several members of the Neville clan actually work for the newly-promoted League One side and, while he may not be able to count on their support, the veteran defender can't wait to lead Everton out at his hometown Club.

"The quality of training has been upped this week with the internationals coming back," Neville told evertontv.

"But everyone is looking forward to playing the first game. The first 10 days is always a bit of a slog and when the games start the fun starts.

"And for me personally, going to Bury is always special. My mum works there, my grandma works there, my auntie and uncle work there. Going home is always nice."
