Everton skipper Neville: Disaster if UEFA Cup spot not clinched

Everton captain Phil Neville claims it will be a 'disaster' if the club fail to qualify for the Uefa Cup this season.

David Moyes' side must ensure they collect points from their final two games to maintain their Uefa Cup position ahead of Aston Villa.

"From a personal point of view, it would be a disaster to miss out on Europe and I know the other players feel the same," Neville told the Daily Express.

"We've had some tremendous nights and I want to play European football every season whether it's the Uefa Cup or the Champions League."

Everton have not won in their last three league outings and played out a 2-2 draw with Villa last time out.

Villa have claimed three victories from their last four games, but Neville is adamant that his side can come out on top.

"You can't say we deserve it so far because at the end of the season the table doesn't lie," he added.

"We've got to make sure we see things out and get our just rewards for everything we've put in."
