Everton captain Phil Neville says LA Galaxy star David Beckham has a big role to play as part of England's World Cup party.

Former Manchester United teammate and friend Neville believes Beckham could play a crucial role from the dug out.

"He is an inspirational type of figure," the Blues captain told evertontv. "He has got wonderful experience because he has played in three World Cups so playing in a World Cup is not something that will faze David.

"He could pass on a lot of experience to the younger players in the squad - but it will be up to Fabio Capello."
