Everton skipper Phil Jagielka is looking forward to working with new manager Roberto Martinez.
Jagielka admits he is keen to make a positive mark on the 39-year-old when the Everton squad reconvene after their summer break.
"It's always exciting when a new manager joins a football club," Jagielka told evertonfc.com.
"You never quite know what to expect but all you can do as a player is keep working hard, keep doing what you do best and hope that it will be enough to impress the new man.
"I don't know a great deal about the new gaffer personally, but whenever our paths have crossed he always seems to be a really nice guy.
"I am sure our fans will welcome him with open arms. He has a very good CV as a manager and he obviously impressed the chairman enough for him to be offered the Everton job. I am really looking forward to working with him."
