New Everton signing Steven Pienaar hopes to see action in tomorrow's friendly against Blackpool.
The midfielder completed a permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday and hopes to go straight into the squad for the warm-up fixture at Bloomfield Road.
"I'm not 100 per cent fit yet and I'd say I need the two weeks that are left to go before the season begins to get ready," Pienaar told evertonfc.com.
"I've missed out maybe one or two weeks of training so it's going to be very hard. But you have to go through the pain to be fit and I'll have to push myself to make sure at the start of the season I am fully fit.
"The way things are going, I think I need maybe 60 or 70 minutes [against Blackpool] but it all depends whether the manager wants to use me in the game.
"If I do play, it will only be my second game of pre-season. I'm looking forward to it."
