Everton signing Pickford: I've already spoken with Koeman

Everton signing Jordan Pickford is looking forward to playing for manager Ronald Koeman.

The England Under-21 stopper joined Everton from Sunderland on Thursday for a whopping £30 million.

Pickford spoke to his new boss Koeman by phone yesterday.

The Goodison new-boy said: “He sent a text on Friday wishing me good luck and I spoke with him on the phone yesterday to get an introduction.

“I'd never spoken with him before as my agent did all the transfer business. I'm just a lad who likes playing football. I'm not bothered about anything else.

“I was too young to see him play but I heard he was a free-kick specialist.

“I've heard he's a top manager and it will be good to learn under him.

“It's been a big few days but I'll focus on it when I'm back from Poland."
