New Everton signing Magaye Gueye admits David Moyes was key to decision to leave Strasbourg.
The highly-rated 20-year-old was also a target of Lyon but the front man said Claude Puel, the boss of the Ligue 1 outfit, wasn't as determined as Moyes to secure his services.
Gueye said: "He (Moyes) has followed me for six months. I have been seen several times with Strasbourg and in the French team.
"I had better feelings with Everton. I know I will get opportunities to play in a great league, which has been my dream since I was a kid.
"I am not scared to join England directly from Strasbourg. I know I will improve. It will just be up to me to prove to the coach I deserve a position in the team."
