Everton Bosman signing Jermaine Beckford doesn't expect to be a walk-up starter.
Beckford carved out his name in lower league football but is now in the big time following a free transfer switch from Leeds United.
The former non-league striker knows there are areas he must improve, but feels Everton is the perfect club to help him grow.
"Personally I felt like this is one of the clubs that I could learn a lot from," Beckford told Sky Sports News.
"I've got a good chance of hopefully playing with some of the best players in the world. That's just something that drew me in.
"I'm willing to learn. I'm not looking to just jump straight into the starting XI. I'm not silly.
"I'm hoping to learn a lot and fingers crossed I'll be on the bench and take it one step at a time."
