Everton boss Dave Moyes is closing in on released Real Betis midfielder Johann Vogel.

The Sunday Mirror says the ex-PSV Eindhoven and AC Milan star, who has won 94 caps for Switzerland, had a torrid 16-month stay in Spain and has not made one appearance so far this season.

Moyes was linked this summer with a move for him, before Vogel decided to stay in Spain for another season.

His time has turned sour, though, and with Vogel reportedly in the process of suing Betis over unpaid wages he has left the club.
