Everton are set to reap the rewards with Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford likely to join them on a free transfer.
The 26-year old is out of contract at Elland Road at the end of the season and Whites chairman Ken Bates was resigned to the fact that the star goalscorer would not be back at the club next season.
"He has an unusual agent and it's not easy to have discussions with him. Although the manager would like him to stay, I suspect it is unlikely but he will go with our best wishes," Bates said.
