Everton are seeking to add a new scout to their football staff.

The Liverpool Echo says Everton have yet to replace the highly thought of Damian Matthew who took up a coaching role with Southend United at the start of February.

Matthew was Everton's scout in the south of England at under-23s level and is credited with helping the Blues sign Ademola Lookman from Charlton Athletic in January 2017.

But the 47-year-old accepted the call from Chris Powell to form part of his backroom staff at League One club.
