Everton hope to close the signing of Rangers attacker Steven Naismith by the weekend.

The Scottish Sun says Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers and West Bromwich Albion were among six other sides who wanted the ex-Kilmarnock kid - while clubs in Holland and Turkey were also keen.

But it now looks like Naismith is just days away from linking up again with former Gers team-mate Nikica Jelavic, who has become a big hero at Goodison, netting 11 goals since his January switch.
