Everton boss Roberto Martinez is having Nani scouted this season in Portugal.
Nani is starring this term on-loan with Sporting CP as parent club Manchester United seek a summer buyer.
The Sun says Martinez is exploring the prospect of signing Nani as a replacement for wantaway winger Kevin Mirallas.
The Blues boss would use the cash raised from Mirallas' sale to bid for Nani.
United are seeking at least £10 million for Nani, with his current salary proving the biggest stumbling block to finding him a new club.
