Everton are scrambling to secure Marouane Fellaini to a new contract.
The Daily Mail says Everton will be forced to consider selling Fellaini next summer if the Belgian midfielder does not sign a new contract.
Fellaini has been in talks with Everton's hierarchy over extending his stay at Goodison Park all summer and the club are confident discussions will reach a successful conclusion.
But with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2013, Everton cannot risk entering into the same situation they found themselves with Steven Pienaar and need to protect their asset.
