Everton's Yakubu breaks drought with lucky goal

Everton boss David Moyes was pleased for Nigerian striker Ayegbeni Yakubu on breaking a nine match drought, even though there may have been an element of luck in his goal against Middlesbrough on the weekend.

Yakubu equalised for the Toffees in the second half with a goal that bounced in off his back, but Moyes said it didn't matter how you got them, as long as they are going in. "I was pleased for Yakubu to have scored. He had a couple of other chances beforehand so he will be pleased with his effort too.

"He did a lot better in this one, overall it was a better performance from him."
