Everton's Naismith: Scotland taking massive steps forward

Everton forward Steven Naismith is feeling very good about Scotland's future.

The 27-year old starred for the Scots in their 2-0 win over Croatia in their final World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night and although the campaign to make the finals in Brazil next year was fruitless, Naismith suggests Gordon Strachan's squad is beginning to come good.

"We have taken giant steps forward," he said.

"We are more confident, we are going at teams, we are not sitting in and trying to nick a one-nil win.

"That's been the biggest change, being a bit more expansive.

"We have got quality midfielders and forward players and we can hurt teams and we have got good athletes as well."
