Everton's Moyes not at all surprised about West Brom resurgence

Everton manager David Moyes says the form of West Bromwich Albion since Roy Hodgson took over as boss has not surprised him.

The Baggies have dropped just two of their 10 games since the former Fulham man took over after a poor stint with Liverpool, guiding them to safety after coming up from the Championship.

Although it has come as a surprise to some, Moyes says that Hodgson is the type of manager to get the best out of the players he has and has written off his poor showing at Anfield.

"I don't know if his career ever went off track," he told the club's official website. "He went to Liverpool for a few months and the fit just didn't work.

"You can't say he's not done a good job wherever he's been. He's been at Fulham, he's managed international teams, he's been at Inter Milan, Udinese. If anybody in any way thought he hadn't done a good job then they are wrong.

"He is very experienced and he's proving that once again at West Brom."

Moyes made the comments ahead of the Toffees' trip to The Hawthorns tomorrow and says the clubs is in a great position which they wouldn't have imagined at the start of the season.

"I think if you had given West Brom supporters the position they are in now at the start of the season they would have taken that all day long," he added.

"The Hawthorns has always been a tough place for us to go and it will be their last home game of the season so it will be a tough and tense afternoon."
