Everton's Mirallas claims Atletico Madrid interest

Everton winger Kevin Mirallas has suggested that Atletico Madrid are showing interest in his services.

The Belgium international was linked with Tottenham during the winter transfer window but claims that Spanish outfit Atletico enquired about his availability.

Mirallas, who joined the Toffees from Olympiakos in August 2012, could be on his way out at Goodison Park at the end of the season and has indicated that perhaps a shift to Spain could be on the cards.

"There have been offers and enquiries, but no real negotiations. January isn't the ideal month for a transfer," he told La Capitale.

"I have never said I absolulety want to leave Everton. I like it over here, but I feel ready for a new challenge.

"I dream of playing in the Champions League next season. With Everton or another club. I just have to see after this season. Don't forget, the 2015 Europa League winners will qualify for the following season's Champions League.

"I'll make a decision after the season.

"I like the Premier League, but Spain also tempts me. Atletico have enquired, but there was no offer."
