Everton manager Roberto Martinez was full of praise for captain Phil Jagielka after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Liverpool.
The England centre-back scored a stunning equaliser in injury time as the Toffees forced a draw with the Reds in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Earlier, Steven Gerrard scored with a sublime free-kick to give his side the advantage but Jagielka struck late to give Martinez's side a share of the points.
"I don't think I've seen a better strike in live football," Martinez told evertontv.
"It had to be incredible to go in the top corner and it was.
"The way he adjusted his body is very impressive. And to get that power almost off the outside of his laces - it's some strike.
"Phil has had a lot of unfair criticism from the outside recently and there is no better way to respond to adversity than that, because defensively he also played an important role for us today."
The draw saw Everton move to six points from six matches this season, placing them 13th on the table, as Liverpool went 12th with their first draw of the campaign.
