Everton's Jagielka likely to miss England's World Cup qualifiers

Phil Jagielka is expected to be sidelined for three weeks after injuring his ankle in Everton's 3-1 win over Reading on the weekend.

The Toffees defender was hoping to be involved in the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers later in March but it is unlikely that he will recover in time after receiving multiple stitches on a gash sustained by a poor tackle from Adam Le Fondre on Saturday.

The Three Lions head to San Marino on March 22 for their next Group H fixture before the March 26 clash with Montenegro in Podgorica with Jagielka, at this point in time, likely to be absent.
