Everton's Jagielka delighted to have Cahill back

Everton defender Phil Jagielka says the addition of Tim Cahill and Mikel Arteta back into the squad has given the club a boost.

Australian international Cahill made just his second start since late February when he lasted 66 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Wigan Atheltic at DW Stadium on Saturday whilst Spanish playmaker Arteta played the same amount of time after missing the five previous Toffees outings.

England international Jagielka said it was great to have both players back in the starting line-up after both had been battling injuries for the past few weeks.

"They are special players and add a lot to our team," he told the club's official website.

"We've played a slightly different way in recent weeks and picked up some fantastic performances along the way.

"Even at Man U it was a decent containing job for most of the game, but it was nothing to do with those two coming back why we didn't play well. At least that's 60 minutes under their belt and it will only make them better come the weekend."

Seventh-placed Everton are at home to Manchester City this Saturday before meeting West Bromwich Albion and Chelsea to round out their season.
