Everton's Irvine looking forward to working with starlet Green

Everton's academy director Alan Irvine cannot wait to begin work with highly-rated Bradford teenager George who has joined the Toffees until next summer. The 15-year-old attacking midfielder had been linked with the likes of Tottenham and Bayern Munich but Everton got there first with a reported initial bid of £280,000 in a deal potentially worth £2million to the npower League Two side.

"George is a young player who was attracting interest from a number of clubs," Irvine told evertonfc.com.

"He has got good potential but at the moment that's all it is. He has got a lot of work to do and he knows that.

"We're happy to have him and we're looking forward to working with him here at the academy."
