Everton's Howard: US players fully trust Klinsmann

Tim Howard has made it clear that the players selected in the 23-man USA squad for the World Cup have placed their full trust in manager Juergen Klinsmann.

Klinsmann has named a relatively young roster for the Brazil tournament, leaving out the nation's all-time leading goalscroer Landon Donovan in the process.

That decision has raised eyebrows around the US but number one goalkeeper Howard insists it is a choice that the rest of the group has to respect if they are to move forward ahead of their Group G opener against Ghana on June 16.

"Since Jurgen was hired we've trusted in his decision making and his opinion on what he thinks is best for the team," the Everton gloveman told USsoccer.com.

"He obviously has a vision for his team that he thinks is a winning one and we believe in that."

Additionally, 35-year old Howard was looking forward to being part of a fairly youthful squad as he prepares for his third World Cup.

"The one thing I like most is that we're young," he added.

"In 2010 we were an older team and that had been there before and that experience was important. But with youth comes not being scared in big moments and [the young players] are rearing to go.

"There's no apprehension and that's a positive. You have a lot of guys who want to do big things on a world stage.

"We've got enough experience that the older guys can carry the group but that youth is refreshing."
