Everton’s Heitinga calls for Donovan stay

Everton defender Johnny Heitinga has called for loanee Landon Donovan to remain with the club.

After the club teammates met in the Holland v USA friendly on Wednesday night, the Dutchman says he wants the LA Galaxy star to stay at Goodison Park after his loan spell expires in two weeks.

“I hope so," he told Soccer365. "He's a good player. He has done very well at Everton these last months."

It is unsure whether or not Donovan will be able to have his contract with the Toffees extended with manager David Moyes saying he is prepared to honour the fact Donovan has a permanent deal with the Galaxy.
