Recent reports have suggested that fans are not willing to pay money to go and see English Premier League club Everton when they come to Australia.
Brisbane Roar fans have already begun to vote with their feet by saying they will stay away from Suncorp Stadium on July 17 because ticket prices are too expensive.
Everton is a massive English club who will not be touring Australia every year and the squad possesses plenty of world-class players, including Australia star Tim Cahill, who may not be seen again on our shores again meaning the $49.95 bronze category ticket is very reasonable.
Other ticket prices include family packages of $299.90 and $179.90 plus silver and gold category tickets priced at $99.95 and $139.95 respectively.
A spokesperson for the Everton Down Under tour believes that fans are getting a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch the Toffees take on the Roar and is confident that they will get value for money.
"The Brisbane Roar v Everton match is a one-off, and is an opportunity for Brisbane Roar to show fans what they're really made of up against one of the oldest and most loved clubs in the English Premier League," the spokesperson said.
"It's a fantastic pre-season opportunity for Brisbane Roar - not only in testing themselves against terrific opposition but also receiving a substantial fee for doing so.
"Real football fans wouldn't really want to miss it."
Everton will also take on reigning A-League champions Sydney FC on July 10 and new franchise Melbourne Heart on July 14 in their three-match tour of Australia.
