Everton's Coleman expecting tough love from Ireland bosses O'Neill, Keane

Seamus Coleman feels that new Republic of Ireland bosses Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane will let the players know if standards are slipping.

The Everton defender has welcomed the appointment of new manager O'Neill and his right-hand man Keane and says that perhaps a hard stance should be the way to go in order to lift the quality of Irish football.

"As players, you know when you have done wrong and if I have done something wrong and a manager has a go at me, I'll take it on the chin because I think it's good that they have pointed out that you have made a mistake," Coleman said.

"I think it will be no different under these two managers."

However, Coleman was hoping he never has to be on the wrong end of a spray from the stern mouth of Keane.

"I haven't seen that side of him yet. Hopefully I will never be on the receiving end," he added.
