Tim Cahill has called for support for the Australian national team following a couple of draws to kick-off the final round of 2014 World Cup qualifying.
The Socceroos have been heavily criticised recently for being too old, especially in the 0-0 draw with Oman in Muscat on Friday, but Cahill feels that everybody should be getting behind the team and cease the negativity after their fighting 1-1 draw with Asian champions Japan on Tuesday.
"The thing is we play for our country because we love it. We don't play here to get bagged. They should support football and stop bagging us.
"It's been really tough but we are professionals and play in some of the biggest leagues in the world and still enjoy it.
"I enjoyed tonight, the lads enjoyed it, it's just unfortunate that we didn't get the result.""I'm bored of it," he said after the clash with the Blue Samurai in Brisbane. "I'm bored of listening to that sort of stuff.
