Everton's Cahill lauds left-back Baines

Everton star Tim Cahill has heaped praise on teammate Leighton Baines.

The Australian international was the recipient of a brilliant Baines cross which allowed him to head home the second goal in the 3-3 draw with Manchester United on the weekend and has lauded the 25-year olds ability to pinpoint Toffees players from the flanks.

"I think I'm lucky because I've got a relationship with Bainesy where we work together a lot on the pitch and try to make things happen," Cahill told the club's official website.

"But I think I am lucky as well because he's got that special left foot which can create chances and put those chances on a plate - hopefully for myself to finish.

"He's a great player and someone who is not only effective in defending but going forward as well he does give us that different dimension.

"I'm very happy to have someone like that on my side because I rely on him a hell of a lot and I give him a hard time about putting the ball in the box and helping me get more chances."
