Everton star Tim Cahill has dared to dream ahead of the World Cup which kicks off at the end of the week.

The Australia international is adamant that the Socceroos are not in South Africa just to make up numbers and has targeted positive performances on the world stage.

"I never stop dreaming," he said. "To be honest with you, whether it's England or anyone, my ¬biggest dream as a kid was to win the World Cup.

"Australia are not there to make up the numbers; we're there to do the best we can."

Australia takes on Germany in their first group stage match on Monday morning followed by clashes with Ghana and Serbia in just their third-ever appearance at the World Cup finals.
